JIYON HWANG, MD 

BOARD CERTIFIED, DIPLOMAT OF THE AMERICAN BOARD OF INTERNAL MEDICINE

Introduction and Background

Our founder is a licensed physician in Maryland and Virginia, and is a Board Certified Doctor of Internal Medicine with over 20-years experience in the medical profession. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, where her father was a South Korean diplomat. She spent her childhood accompanying her parents on diplomatic assignments in Spain and Ecuador, and speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Korean. Growing up in different countries instilled in her a deep appreciation and affinity for different cultures, perspectives, and people of all backgrounds.

During her years of medical practice, Dr. Jiyon Hwang recognized the need for a more comprehensive approach to wellness, one that addressed not just medical conditions but also aesthetic concerns and emotional well-being. In 2017, driven by her vision of integrating traditional medicine with aesthetic treatments, she established Donna Bella Laser MedSpa® in Rockville, MD, and recently expanded, opening new locations in Ashburn and Fairfax, VA. Under her leadership, the med spa quickly gained a reputation for its innovative approach to health and beauty. She emphasized the importance of personalized treatment plans, ensuring that each patient felt valued and understood. Her unique blend of medical knowledge and aesthetic expertise attracted a diverse clientele, from young professionals seeking skincare advice to older adults interested in maintaining their youthful appearance.
