What to Expect
Before Your Treatment
- Consultation: Your journey begins with a complimentary consultation where our experts will assess your skin and hair type to create a personalized treatment plan just for you.
- Preparation:
Avoid plucking, waxing, or electrolysis for at least six weeks before your scheduled treatment.
Shave the treatment area 24 hours prior to your appointment to ensure the laser can effectively target the hair follicles.
- Sun Exposure Precautions: Stay out of the sun and away from tanning beds for a minimum of two weeks before your session. If you must be outdoors, be sure to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
During Your Treatment
- Eye Protection: You will be provided with protective goggles to wear during the procedure to shield your eyes from the laser.
- Numbing Gel:
For sensitive areas, a numbing gel may be applied to the treatment area to minimize any discomfort.
- Laser Application:
The laser device will be adjusted to your unique skin type and hair color. The laser emits a concentrated beam of light that targets and heats the hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth.
- Sensations:
You may experience a warm, prickly sensation or feel something akin to a rubber band snapping against your skin. The treatment duration can vary greatly, from just a few minutes for small areas like the upper lip to over an hour for larger areas like the back.
After Your Treatment
- Immediate Effects: It’s normal to experience some redness and swelling in the treated area, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically subsides within a day.
- Soothing Techniques: Apply cool compresses or aloe vera gel to the treated area to soothe and reduce any discomfort.
- Sun Exposure Avoidance: Continue to avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least a month after your treatment. Use a broad-spectrum SPF30 sunscreen daily to protect your skin.
- Post-Treatment Care: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours following your treatment to prevent irritation.
- Hair Shedding: Over the next few weeks, the treated hair will shed and fall off. This is a normal and expected response, so avoid plucking or waxing the shedding hair.
Results and Follow-Up
- Multiple Sessions: Most patients require 2 to 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results, depending on the area treated and your individual hair growth cycle.
- Long-Term Results: After the first session, you can expect a 10% to 25% reduction in hair. With each subsequent treatment, the remaining hair will become finer and lighter.
- Maintenance: Some patients may need occasional maintenance treatments to maintain their smooth, hair-free skin.

- Common Side Effects: Minor side effects like redness, swelling, and discomfort are common and typically resolve within a few days.

Because hair follicles are in an active growth cycle at various times, multiple treatments are recommended to achieve optimal results. On average, betewen 4-6 sessions will provide optimal results. Of course, actual number of treatments to provide optimal long-term benefits depends on many factors such as hair thickness, the hair's growth cycle and the body area being treated. Remember, no hair removal system available provides 100% hair removal, however, you should expect a 90% reduction in hair.
Some of the temporary side effects include redness, irritation, and swelling in the treated area, though these subside after some time.
An average of 4 to 6 sessions are needed for visible results, but this can vary depending on hair thickness, growth cycle, and treatment area.
After finishing your treatments, you can expect to retain results for several months to a year.
